Profile

James was a multi-sport athlete in high school when various injuries, some major, introduced him to the world of athletic training. His athletic trainer helped him recover from these injuries and educated him on how to help avoid them in the future. The science behind musculoskeletal injuries as well as the methods of prevention and rehabilitation have been an interest of his since. Alongside this, the drive to improve the lives of others and help them achieve their goals has led him to pursue a career in the field of athletic training.

He was born in South Bend, Indiana and attended Michigan State University to get his Bachelor’s in Kinesiology. After successful completion of his undergraduate program, he spent a year scribing for an ENT physician before getting his MS in Athletic Training at the University of Indianapolis. He spent time in several athletic training settings during his graduate program, including high schools, NAIA and NCAA DII colleges, cash-based practices, and in a sports medicine clinic at Indiana University’s Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

In pursuit of experiencing a new part of the country and broaden his horizons, James came upon the Pacific Northwest as an ideal area to relocate. He discovered Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists when looking to begin his career and found O+FS to be a great fit for pursuing athletic training in a physician-based setting. James enjoys exploring the outdoors and trying new foods in his free time. He is also an avid golfer and basketball player.
