Profile

Angie fell in love with hand therapy after her fieldwork experience in the Fall of 2000. She has worked in hand therapy since 2001 and loves the intricacy of the hand and how its abilities drive someone’s soul. Her passion for hand therapy prompted her pursuit of certification in 2007. She was blessed to be able to work alongside and collaborate with hand surgeons in a unique hand clinic setting for over a decade in Madison, WI. This reinforced her knowledge of the hand and upper extremity and provided hands on experience that could not be gained from of a textbook.

Angie relishes in the on-demand problem solving that comes with her job as a hand therapist. The unique challenges; biomechanical and anatomical, of the hand and upper extremity is exciting to her. The knowledge base and skills to create a well-constructed custom splint is one of Angie’s favorite aspects as a hand therapist. Blending manual therapy, modalities, education in addition to splinting helps her achieve positive outcomes for her patients. She also believes that prioritizing the patient as a whole is a key component of maximizing the home exercise program into everyday life.

In her free time, Angie enjoys exploring her new surroundings here in the PNW with her family, hiking and the Portland food scene. Travel is her passion, alongside snowboarding and savoring a good cup of coffee.
