Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists' 12-month Athletic Training Residency Program was founded in 2016. Located in Portland, Oregon, Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists created the program to advance the knowledge of musculoskeletal clinical evaluation and diagnosis of certified athletic trainers.
The Athletic Training Residency Program at Orthopedic + Fracture is designed to incorporate the resident into the every-day clinical functions of our organization. You will assist our physicians in diagnosis and treatment of orthopedic conditions as a member of our team. You will also learn how to promote the athletic training profession within this emerging setting through research and by developing as a leader within the organization. Residency start and end days are typically flexible, but anticipated to start late June to early July.
Applications are currently being accepted through April 8th, 2025. Interviews will be held on a rolling basis. Phone interviews will be conducted for top applicants, followed by a second round of interviews for selected candidates - these may be hosted on site vs. virtual. The mission of the Athletic Training Residency Program at Orthopedic + Fracture is to advance the athletic training resident’s knowledge of orthopedic care and to develop skills in the areas of musculoskeletal evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment. You will become an integral member of the physicians’ practice while enhancing the quality of patient care.
We are committed to producing excellent certified athletic trainers to continue their careers in the physician practice setting and to develop skills that will allow them to evolve their roles into administrative and managerial positions.
