REVIEW USJosie was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. As a teenager she developed a passion for movement and upon taking an anatomy and physiology course at a local community college during her senior year, knew that she wanted a career in health and exercise. Josie went on to pursue a bachelor's degree in exercise science at Western Oregon University, where she competed as a track and cross-country athlete. During her time in undergrad she spent a lot of time utilizing the athletic training facilities, where she was able to gain a deep appreciation for the holistic care that athletic trainers provide for their patients. Josie also had the opportunity to work with student athletic trainers earning their master's degrees from Oregon State, and felt inspired to apply to the program there.
While earning her master's degree, Josie had the privilege of learning from a diverse variety of athletic trainers and gained experience working with both high school and collegiate populations. One of Josie's most positive clinical experiences was her time as a student working at Oregon State's recreation center, due to the diversity in the patient population. Many patients had little previous experience working with an athletic trainer, so getting to be a part of those first interactions was both challenging and rewarding. Josie is excited to join the team at Orthopedic and Fracture Specialists and hopes to continue to work with patients of all levels to reach their goals!
Outside of athletic training, Josie loves to run, lift weights, and explore the outdoors.
