Children do not always respond to injuries the same way adults do. In some cases, a child may still try to walk, play, or use an injured arm or leg even when a fracture is present. That is why it is important for parents to pay attention to signs such as persistent pain, swelling, limping, or avoiding use of an extremity after a fall or injury.
In this video, Dr. Summers, our pediatric orthopedic specialist, discusses what parents should know about kids’ injuries, fractures, and when it may be time to have their child evaluated.
