Dr. Brian Bettencourt serves as the official team physician for the University of Portland, providing comprehensive orthopedic and sports medicine care to Portland Pilots student athletes. He works closely with athletes, athletic trainers, coaches, and sports performance staff to evaluate injuries, guide treatment, and help athletes safely return to competition.
About University of Portland Athletics:
University of Portland is Oregon’s only comprehensive university with schools of business, education, engineering, nursing, a College of Arts and Sciences, and a graduate school. The Portland Pilots are members of the West Coast Conference and compete at the NCAA Division I level. There are sixteen intercollegiate teams: baseball (M), basketball (MW), cross country (MW), rowing (W), soccer (MW), tennis (MW), indoor and outdoor track and field (MW), and indoor and beach volleyball (W).
Dr. Brian Bettencourt serves as a team physician for Pacific University Oregon in Forest Grove, providing comprehensive orthopedic and sports medicine care to Pacific Boxers student athletes. He works closely with athletes, athletic trainers, coaches, and sports performance staff to evaluate injuries, guide treatment, and help athletes safely return to competition. Dr. Bettencourt joined the Pacific Athletic Training medical staff in 2013.
About Pacific University Athletics:
Pacific offers 24 intercollegiate athletics programs, which compete as members of NCAA Division III.
Men's programs are offered in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, indoor and outdoor track and field, and wrestling. Women's programs are offered in basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, rowing, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, indoor and outdoor track and field, and wrestling. Junior varsity programs are offered for baseball, men's basketball, softball and volleyball.
Pacific University is a charter member of the Northwest Conference, which was founded in in 1926. Other member schools are George Fox University, Lewis & Clark College, Linfield College, Pacific Lutheran University, the University of Puget Sound, Whitman College, Whitworth University and Willamette University.
