Profile

Dr. Elizabeth Lieberman is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee joint replacement surgery. Her practice includes management of musculoskeletal problems ranging from chronic arthritis to acute injuries. She has special interest in complex primary and revision procedures.

Dr. Lieberman was born and raised in Oregon. She attended the University of Southern California where she received a bachelor of science in Kinesiology with a minor in Comparative Literature. During undergrad, she worked as an Athletic Trainer with the USC football team (Fight on!) where she was able to shadow the team doctors, which sparked her interest in orthopedic surgery. She returned to Portland where she completed her medical degree and orthopedic surgery residency at OHSU. After residency, Dr. Lieberman completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction and Hip Preservation at Washington University in St. Louis.

Dr. Lieberman has contributed to numerous scientific publications including original research, book chapters, and as a reviewer for scientific journals. She is passionate about advocating for patients and healthcare providers and serves on multiple committees through the Oregon Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

Dr. Lieberman’s goal is to understand each patient as an individual and to help patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options so they feel included in their care. She believes, "You’re never too young or too old to have a joint replacement. It’s a matter of figuring out the safest and most effective way to help people maintain active, pain-free lifestyles".

She is thrilled to be back home in Oregon taking care of patients in the community she grew up in. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband and two black labs.
