Rehabbing from an injury is a team effort, and "good communication between therapist and patient often lead to the best results". Born and raised just outside of San Francisco, Justin Melson fell in love with the PNW after completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Oregon. Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist, Justin worked as a student athletic trainer during the summer for the Oregon Ducks, working with both the football and women’s lacrosse teams. While in school, he also assisted with World Wheelchair Sports, coaching athletes in track and field events and assisting with weekly sailing races. He returned to California to earn his Doctor of Physical Therapy from University of St. Augustine, before coming back to Oregon and working with the Physical Therapy team at Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists.

After a brief 2-year vacation in San Luis Obispo, Justin and his wife, Amanda made the permanent move back to Portland and received the best birthday gift with the welcoming of their first child in November of 2022. "I firmly believe the best medicine is laughter, and try to blend that in with treatment as much as possible." While not treating patients, Justin enjoys his weekly therapy sessions running the beautiful PDX trails, reading any history book, and watching Bluey with his kiddo, Shay.
