Profile

Kory’s advice for any potential patient, no matter where they seek physical therapy is “don’t hold back, express your concerns, tell your story,” he says. “And find a therapist who treats you like a person, not a diagnosis.”

As the Director of Physical Therapy at Orthopedic and Fracture Specialists and a sports rehabilitation specialist, Kory often uses biomechanical analysis to determine technique flaws and limitations in the body that cause stress.

“When I look at an injury or ailment, I look at the whole body versus just focusing on the injury itself,” he says. “Injuries are often caused by compensation and overload.”

Kory has been a featured speaker for several radio and new organizations, the Oregon Professional Golfers Association, State and Regional Gymnastic conferences, and several other local sports and social organizations. He also has worked with Dr. J. Brad Butler in establishing the “Knee Training Zone” program for ACL injury prevention.

Kory received his Master’s degree from Pacific University and later served as adjunct faculty in the School of Physical Therapy from 1998-2003. Kory instructed orthopedics, therapeutic modalities, and advised doctoral thesis research. He has clinical experience in post operative rehabilitation, sports-specific rehabilitation, Graston Technique, manual therapy, and functional movement assessment.

Listening to patients, educating them on their injury, then discussing the details of and reasons for treatment allows Kory to set the stage for success. From there, he wants to get to a place where patients can treat themselves rather than rely on healthcare providers.
