Physician Assistant

Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists is seeking an experienced Full-Time Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team. This position will share time between assisting in surgery (approximately two days a week) and running a clinic practice schedule (approximately two-three days a week) along with a rotation in our hospital-based fracture program (approximately 2 days per month).

The PA must have a strong desire to focus their clinical skills on general musculoskeletal acute and chronic injuries.  The Physician Assistant will join the advanced practitioner team and be required to take evening and weekend call shared amongst 10 practitioners.

Job Duties:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic orthopedic conditions
  • Work autonomously while maintaining a close working relationship with O+FS Physicians.
  • Provide exceptional medical care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions and strive to deliver our mission to “put our patient’s life in motion.” 
  • Possess strong communication and display professionalism when working with patients, families and the community. 
  • Demonstrate proficiency and comfort with all methods of patient electronic documentation and communication.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
  • Current certification by the NCCPA
  • Active Oregon Physician Assistant license with no restrictions
  • Orthopedic experience preferred, but not required

Clinical Athletic Trainer

Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists' ATC Department is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of a clinical athletic trainer. Applicants with experience serving as an assist in the operating room are encouraged to apply. Job responsibilities include clinical duties, outreach at local area high schools and clubs, and serving as a preceptor for Athletic Training students and in the Athletic Training Residency Program, and surgical first assist duties for qualified candidates. This is an hourly position with a very competitive benefits package. Pay is commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in day-to-day functions of the clinic, including obtaining and recording patient history and physical examination
  • Assist in coverage of other employees and maintain flexibility in changing offices, stations, or assignments as necessary
  • Assist with patient phone calls, paperwork, and voicemails
  • Assist with additional duties such as braces, DME, and casting
  • Serve as a surgical first assist to multiple orthopedic surgeons (if applicable)
  • Assist in all aspects of surgical assisting including patient positioning, draping, splinting, and room turnover (if applicable)
  • Provide athletic training services as part of the 503-ATHLETE community outreach program. This will include some weekends and evenings
  • Serve as preceptor for students from athletic training education programs

Education/Training/Experience Requirements:

  • ATC certification
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the physician practice setting
  • OTC certification or equivalent preferred
  • Completion of a post-professional athletic training residency program preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the operating room preferred
  • Computer knowledge and experience

Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective written and oral communications
  • Strong ability to triage and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness and desire to work as part of a team

Central Sterile Technician

Center for Specialty Surgery is looking to hire a team player to join our Central Sterile Processing Department! You are one of the go-to people ensuring that instrument details are arranged for the facility and for upcoming cases. You will work closely with our other CS Staff and the Materials Manager. Infection Control is always the lens you are looking through when doing your job.

Specialties include: Orthopedic (sports medicine/fractures), Podiatry, Hand, Foot/ankle, Spine, Total Joint Replacements, Plastic, Dental, and Pain Management.

Duties Include:

  • Clean instruments
  • Operate and monitor testing of sterilizers and maintain sterilization records,
  • Performs biologicals
  • Help communicate order needs to the materials manager
  • Pull supplies/instruments for next day and maintain case cart stock supplies
  • Receive, process, and deliver instruments for the OR’s

Position Requirements:

  • At least 1-year Sterile Processing experience
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and other co-workers
  • Ability to follow appropriate protocols and procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills
