‘TIS THE SEASON OF GIVING

In keeping with the spirit of the season, the staff at Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists have chosen to focus on the true “Meaning of Christmas” and give back to our community. We have chosen to support Rose Haven, a local organization that offers compassion, practical assistance, and community to women and children facing loss of home, abuse, and disruptive life experiences in Portland! We will have boxes throughout the office collecting donation items from now through the end of the year. Patients are welcome to support our employees’ efforts in donating needed items as listed on the website.

A little bit about Rose Haven:

Rose Haven was designed using the results of a survey done in 1977 by Sr. Cathie Boerboom, which asked the women of Old Town what they most needed and wanted. Sr. Cathie built connections with other community partners that met some of the needs of the women expressed. From here Rose Haven became a program under the umbrella of Catholic Charities. In 2006 Rose Haven became and independent, non-profit organization, relocated to NW Portland.

For more information on Rose Haven, visit their website: www.rosehaven.org.

How can you help?:

We’re glad you asked! Between now and the end of Decemnber, we will be collecting donations at our office! We are collecting women and children clothing (new or like new only): undergarments and socks – new only, leggings, jackets, shoes, toiletries, blankets, towels, etc. (for a list of accepted items, please check the website link above). We are also collecting cash donations – the staff will be participating in “Casual for a Cause,” where staff will have the opportunity to wear jeans to work on Friday, December 1st, to show their support and donate to this wonderful cause. We welcome any cash donation you would like to contribute. The doctors at O+F will then match the staff’s contribution to Rose Haven! If you have any more questions as to how you can help feel free call us at 503.214.5200 and ask for Deb Webster.
