Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists are proud to announce the association of Dr. Mark W. Manoso to the practice of Orthopedic Surgery, beginning in June of 2016. Dr. Manoso is coming to the Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists from Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington where he was the Chief of Orthopedics. He has served in the US Army and has been deployed twice to Afghanistan with the second tour as a Forward Surgical Team Commander providing lifesaving surgeries to our service members and humanitarian care to local civilians. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 1997; completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in 2003; and has been an American Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon since 2007. Dr. Manoso completed his fellowship in Orthopedic Oncology in 2005 followed by a fellowship in Spine Surgery in 2013.
Through the years, Dr. Manoso has continued to stay current with medical advances. In his main focus of spine surgery, he brings to the group standard as well as advanced surgeries such as multi-level cervical disc arthroplasty and minimally invasive surgery for the appropriate patient. “I cannot serve my patients well if I am not staying current in order to bring proven and safe cutting-edge treatment to them.”
Having been a sports-injury patient and experiencing his own surgery, Dr. Manoso knows the importance of communication and trust between the patient and their care team. “I find that ensuring my patients know what to expect and being there for them are fundamental in building a cohesive and caring relationship.” Dr. Manoso’s 20+ years of experience with the US Military has strengthened his bond of service to his patients and their families.
