Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists is proud to announce that Jeana L. Summers D.O. will be joining the providers in the practice of Pediatric Orthopedics beginning September 2019. Dr. Jeana Summers is coming to Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists from Arizona’s Center for Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery, where she completed her fellowship. Originally from New Mexico, Dr. Summers attended college in Missouri and then pursued medical school in Iowa. She then moved to Oklahoma to complete her residency in orthopedic surgery before heading to Arizona. Dr. Summers is excited to make Portland her ‘Forever Home’ and bring Pediatric Orthopedics to the west side of Portland.
Dr. Summers’ training as an osteopathic physician has helped instill a holistic approach to treating the patient, which has become key to her practice. She has a special interest in osteopathic manipulations, pediatric spinal deformities, hip preservation, sports injuries, and lower extremity issues, including clubfoot. She enjoys caring for children with special needs, such as cerebral palsy and other congenital anomalies. Her scope of practice also includes Trauma/Fractures and General Orthopedics for pediatrics as well as adults.
Dr. Summers enjoys meeting new patients, discussing their goals, and helping them achieve optimal success; She is looking forward to serving the pediatric population of Portland for their orthopedic needs.
