Profile

Hannah’s interest in the field of Athletic Training began in high school when she was exposed to a class called “Sports, Health, and Fitness Technologies.” Taught by the school’s Athletic Trainer, students were able to learn basics of the profession and gain hands-on experience at an early age. She built upon this knowledge at the University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. As an Athletic Training Student, Ernst worked with several of the Purple Raiders sports teams, including the 13 time NCAA Division III national championship winning football team. Hannah then began her professional career as a graduate assistant Athletic Trainer at Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts. There she also earned her Master of Science in Organizational Leadership.

Ernst was thrilled when given the opportunity to complete an Athletic Training residency program, and even happier to come to Portland and join the team at Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists to do so. “The clinic and OR are two emerging settings in the field of Athletic Training and I am excited to be a part of both during this time of growth. Everyone at O+FS is so pleasant to be around, and I am truly grateful to have the opportunity to learn from a group of excellent health care providers.”
