Profile
Shannon grew up in a small town in the heart of Silicon Valley. She always knew that she wanted to be in the medical field, but finding the right path was a bit harder. Growing up she played any and all sports she was able to which introduced her to the career of athletic training. She moved to Oregon to obtain her undergraduate degree at Oregon State University in Kinesiology and continued her education at Pacific University where she got her Masters of Science in Athletic Training. Clinical rotations were her favorite aspect of school where she developed a deep appreciation of high school athletic trainers. Providing education, care, and respect to her patients is key and she strongly believes if a person can understand techniques to better themselves at 14 years old, they will have a much easier time in the future. Shannon also believes that High school athletics are about so much more than injuries or performance, so she emphasizes looking at the person as a whole including mental health, health history, and goals.
