When is it safe to return to my sport?

Safe participation in athletics requires multiple components of physical performance. Physical attributes required for high-level activities include muscular strength, power, endurance, flexibility, balance, proprioception, speed, and agility. All areas must be married to proper coordination of functional movement patterns. When athletes are injured, these physical components are less than optimal and compensation occurs.
