Through the course of her education, working alongside an Orthopedic Physician, has been one of the highlights. “I love being able to discuss healthcare with a physician in order to provide the best evidence based treatment for patients who are dealing with injuries and pain,” she said.
After her Sports Medicine Residency at Emory University, Jessica realized just how much she enjoyed being a physician extender. “I understood how I could assist an Orthopedic Physician in the efficiency of their clinic, as well as how much the physician would be beneficial in my continuing thirst for knowledge. One thing I really enjoy about Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists is our willingness to assist the community through outreach and trying to see people the same day they get hurt through our acute injury spots.”
During grad school, she assisted in the development of the Korey Stringer Institute. This bred her passion for prevention of sudden death in sports, and desire to change policies for high school athletics. She works with Aloha lacrosse and Lincoln High School athletics. She is currently working with LHS to purchase more AEDs.
